Description

This ultra-rare 1969 UK MONO pressing is on the black & silver '1 EMI Box' label. Only a few hundred copies of this issue were pressed with this label. It is the hardest of the '1 EMI Box' mono trio to locate. PMC 1255. Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Gramophone Co..' rims. There is no tax/price code visible on either label. Housed in its correct thinner card, front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with an outline front mono logo. Complete with its original EMI group advertising inner sleeve. Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2. Stamper numbers: 9/MDT & 1,8/ATM. Spindle traces indicate that this lp has been played just a handful of times (unfortunately my record deck has just failed me so I am unable to test play) and the vinyl has a clean, dark sheen (see photos below). Apart from some light storage lines there is one 1cm scratch between tracks 3 and 4 on side 1 which may produce a click and a spot on track 3 side 2 which again will probably click but could be carefully cleaned I think. Otherwise it visually grades as EX. Inner sleeve has some spots of foxing but is flat and no splits - grades VG+. Outer sleeve has some creasing near the opening edge and bottom right corner, some foxing spots on the front and sticker residue in the top right corner which could probably be improved with careful cleaning - grades as VG+. Overall a very presentable copy of this very scarce lp. See pics below. This is one of several collectable records I am listing this week. P&P will be adjusted if buying more than one item.
